Reconsideration of a denied Social Security disability application

Unfortunately, most applications are initially denied.

If your application is denied, the next step is to ask for reconsideration (except in Missouri, where the reconsideration process is not used). Somewhat like filing the application, asking for reconsideration is a relatively straightforward process. However, most reconsidered applications are denied the second time.
